Time to take a look at the new Samsung Galaxy S8!

First things first let’s look at the new design of the Samsung Galaxy S8, the large bezel-less display is astonishingly beautiful, the screen quality compared to the previous Galaxy models is excellent and the improvements are easily noticeable. However, there is one feature that may turn people away, Samsung have decided to move the fingerprint scanner from the front of the phone to the back, which I can already see being an issue for some customers not wanting to adapt to the positioning of the new feature.

Benefits:

  • Improved battery life
  • Top of the range smartphone camera
  • Amazing screen quality
  • Standard 64GB of memory

Disadvantages:

  • Price
  • Fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone
  • Iris scanner/facial recognition is still poor

The price of the Samsung Galaxy S8 is arguably excusable when compared to the price of its main competitor the iPhone 7, the Samsung Galaxy S8 it is one of the most expensive phones on the market averaging at £35-£60pm.

The S8 is one of the securest phones on the market, allowing you to lock your phone by using the smartphone technologies such as, fingerprint, Iris scanner or pin. Unfortunately, there is one downfall to all these security features and that is the backup method to retrieve lost files, still requires a simple pin to access all documents.

What is Bixby Vision!

In simple terms, the Bixby Vision is a small icon that sits in the corner of your camera that analyses what is seen through the screen, and allows you to access information such as, history of your current location or if you can buy something nearby. Right now, this feature is average at best and I wouldn’t consider adding this feature to the decision of purchasing the Samsung Galaxy S8.

I would consider purchasing the Samsung Galaxy S8 over the other 2017 Smartphones because, the S8 still has a easy customisable interface, great battery life allowing me to use it as a work phone and a camera that is arguably the camera on the market.
